Frequently Asked Questions

Are the calculations accurate?
Our calculator employs our measurement engine, which has earned accreditation from the Smart Freight Centre (SFC) for adherence to the GLEC Framework. This signifies that our carbon emissions measurement technology aligns with top-tier standards for precision and dependability.

Attaining this accreditation necessitates a company to meet stringent criteria and adhere to the guidelines outlined in the GLEC Framework. Through the adoption of these standardized methods, we guarantee the accuracy, consistency, and comparability of our calculations across diverse companies and industries.
Is this calculator accredited by a third party ?
Certainly. In order to secure GLEC accreditation, our technology undergoes regular quality assurance and validation assessments. We consistently refine our measurement algorithms, incorporating the latest research findings and industry best practices.
What methodology is used?
The response will give you the voyage length in nautical miles and an estimation of the tons of CO2 emitted for this voyage, by TEU, with different methods.

Tradelane method In this method, we use the factors given by the GLEC Framework (2019 edit. From the departure and arrival, we deduce which tradelane have been used, and we find the corresponding emission factors. Then we apply these factors to the voyage length. This method does not take into account specific vessel characteristics. This method allows to estimate Well to Tank co2 emissions.
Is this calculator ISO 14083/ GLEC compliant?
Our carbon emissions calculator adheres to European standards for emission calculations and holds accreditation from the Smart Freight Centre (SFC) in accordance with the GLEC Framework, ensuring global coverage across air, sea, road, rail, inland waterways, and logistics hubs.
