DP World has commenced a US$800 million modernisation programme at the Port of Tartous, Syria, with the first of three new Mobile Harbour Cranes arriving on 29 June 2026, expected to increase cargo-handling capacity by 40%. The upgrades will enable the port to accommodate larger vessels, reduce turnaround times, and handle higher volumes of containers, bulk and breakbulk cargo.
