Major ports and their strategic importance
Nigeria has several essential ports that greatly contribute to its maritime economy. The Lagos port, the largest in the country, is a nerve center for maritime trade in West Africa. Thanks to its capacity to handle a large volume of maritime traffic, this port acts as a gateway for goods destined for Nigeria and its neighbors. Port Harcourt, on the other hand, is another important port mainly used for transporting oil resources, vital for the Nigerian economy.
