Reefer Container

A reefer is a refrigerated container with an integrated cooling unit, able to hold temperatures typically between -30°C and +30°C for perishable cargo: fruit, meat, fish, dairy, pharmaceuticals. On board and in terminals, reefers plug into dedicated power points and are monitored continuously.

Reefer slots are a distinct, scarcer capacity than dry slots, commanding significantly higher freight rates. The cold chain must remain unbroken door-to-door, which makes reefer logistics one of the most demanding container segments.
