Main Maritime Ports in Algeria
Algerian ports are spread along the Mediterranean coast and play a major role in the country's economy. The port of Algiers, the capital and main port, is a central hub for international trade, capable of accommodating large vessels. It offers comprehensive port services including transshipment, cargo handling, and ship repair.
The port of Oran, located in the west of the country, is also an important platform for trade and fishing. This modern port facilitates import-export and is being expanded to increase its capacity.
Further east, the port of Annaba is another maritime hub serving local industries and regional exchanges in particular. These ports, along with others like Skikda and Bejaia, form a network that supports the economic structure and regional integration.
